El Tour de Tucson: 109 Miles to Freedom

The longest I had ever ridden my bike was 85 miles, and that was only 2 weeks ago. Everyone that I knew riding in this year's El Tour de Tucson was riding the 109 distance. I was thinking I might only do the 80-mile race, but when a couple of older riding buddies kept egging me on to go the distance, there was absolutely no way I could back down from that.
