ABC proceeded to ask a few questions about why the scorpion population was on the rise here in Phoenix.  Scorpion calls are increasing.  Some blame the rise on the heat.  The heat does make a scorpions life a little more difficult.  They need water just like most living creatures. When water is scarce they begin searching.  Your home is full of moisture.  They can actually feel the moisture in the air that escapes from your home!  So yes heat would cause more scorpion activity and more scoprions to move indoors.  The other reason they questioned was the cricket population.  Crickets are a favorite for scorpions.  The moist winter we just had would increase the cricket popluation.  Just look at the increase in Phoenix weeds this last winter has produced.  Weeds, crickets, and other pests all go hand in hand.  , but perhaps that’s because so few offer a real pest control solution to this problem.  They are not easy to control, but we can do it.  We just interviewed a lady here in the valley about her scorpions and how a previous company had been treating for well over an year and didn’t get rid of them.
